Royal Kašperk Castle

Kašperk castle is a medieval castle placed at the foot of the National Park Šumava. With its elevation, 886 meters above the sea level Kašperk is the highest located royal castle in Bohemia. The castle was founded in 1356 by the Holy Roman emperor and king of Bohemia Charles IV to protect Southwestern Bohemia.
